Twin-turbo power across the range for new X5

BMW X5 310513BMW has revealed details of its third generation X5, which promises improvements in every aspect of the vehicle.

Beyond the cosmetic changes inside and out – including the ability to seat seven – the real story of the new X5 is the improved level of equipment available to buyers.

Drive Dynamic Control now comes as standard, meaning drivers can choose the degree of comfort or ‘sportiness’ on- and off-road. Altering these settings allows changes to be made to the steering, suspension, acceleration and gear shifting.

Inside, BMW says it has upgraded the X5′s ConnectedDrive system, meaning improvements to active safety, convenience and infotainment.

Four diesels and one petrol engine variant will be available – and all will feature the Bavarian’s TwinPower Turbo technology.

The new X5 will be on sale in the UK from 16 November. At launch there will be a choice of xDrive30d, M50d and xDrive50i models, while four-cylinder engine options are expected by the end of the year.

Prices start at £47,895 OTR (xDrive30d), rising to £63,920 for the xDrive50i.
