New Citroen C4 Picasso loses weight; adds tech

Citroen C4 Picasso 270513

Citroën has revealed details about its latest C4 Picasso ahead of the car’s official launch in June.

There is a clear emphasis on adding technology and the design is inspired by previous Citroën concept cars.

Full touchscreen capabilities are available, while a number of safety features have been added into the mix, such as a 360° vision camera system, park assist and active cruise control.

The car is built on PSA Peugeot Citroën’s EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform 2), and is 140kg lighter than the outgoing model. This weight loss has helped one model in the range achieve a CO2 emissions figure of 98g/km.

An upgraded suspension setup offers ‘improved drivability’, according to Citroën. Driver comfort is further enhanced by the addition of electric power steering.

UK on-sale dates and pricing has not yet been confirmed.
