A recall involving more than 25,000 vehicles has been announced by Kia. The Korean manufacturer has identified the possibility of faulty brake light switches on 25,192 cars built between 2006 and 2011.
Some checks in Kia’s research department have discovered that, in some cases, the fault may lead to the light not illuminating, or not turning off after the brake pedal is released.
Affected vehicles in the UK are the previous model Carens, Sedona, Sorento and Sportage, some current Sorento and Soul models, along with a very small number of Optima models.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Kia, and invited to take their vehicles to their local dealer where the switch will be replaced free of charge.
