Fiat has further pushed the boundaries of its 500 range, by revealing plans for a 5+2 MPV version.
The 500L MPW, dubbed ‘Living’ in the rest of Europe, is to make its official debut in July, celebrating the sixth anniversary of the 500 model.
Practicality is at the forefront of the design, the 4.35m-long vehicle boasting a load capacity of 638 litres. Claiming to mix the agility of a city car with the “space and versatility of an MPV”, Fiat believes the 500L MPW will appeal to those who are fans of the 500 and 500L styling, but require extra seats and space.
Buyers will have the choice of two petrol engines – including the 105bhp TwinAir turbo – and two diesels. Two trim levels will be offered, along with a range of 19 body colours, six interior trims and 15 types of alloy wheels or wheel trims. Like the standard model, personalisation is expected, with a total of 292 specification combinations possible.
The order books for the 500L MPW open in July in Italy, and the UK is expected to follow shortly afterwards.
