Looking to capture sales from what it says is the world’s largest market segment, Audi now has a contender in the compact saloon class.
The A3 Saloon joins 3- and 5-door Sportback models in the range, which will be available in the UK in Sport and S line trims.
Customers have the choice of two petrol engines – a 1.4-litre TFSI and 1.8-litre TFSI, offering 138 and 178bhp respectively – and one diesel, the 148bhp 2-litre TDI.
The BMW 3 Series-rival is longer, wider and lower than the Sportback, and offers 425 litres of luggage space with the seats in place – 45 litres more than its five-door stablemate.
As you would expect, a whole host of technologies come as standard, including DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, part-leather upholstery and dual-zone climate control.
There is also a choice of sports or standard suspension on the A3 Saloon, which rides on 17 or 18in wheels.
Priced from £24,275 OTR, the Audi A3 Saloon is on sale now.
