Those customers in the market for four-door, four-seat saloon with more than 500bhp now have a new contender to consider: Vauxhall’s VXR8 GTS.
The car is based on the GEN-F GTS, built by Vauxhall’s Australian sister company HSV, and is the most powerful production vehicle to come out of Australia. The rear-wheel-drive GTS is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 that puts out 576bhp and has 739Nm of torque on tap. There is the option of manual or automatic six-speed transmissions.
The application of an Eaton supercharger means that the GTS has 150bhp more than the standard model. In addition, a number of safety features and technologies have been added, such as lane departure warning and collision avoidance systems.
Priced at £54,999 OTR, the Vauxhall VXR8 GTS is available to order now. First deliveries are expected by the end of the year.
